Desert Mountain Retreat is a low-slung Palm Springs residence that settles into its arid setting through rammed earth, stone, shaded thresholds, and native planting.
The challenge
The home had to manage intense heat and glare without losing the long mountain views or the easy indoor-outdoor rhythm central to desert living.
The Result
Deep overhangs, protected courtyards, and a carefully framed pool terrace create a resilient retreat that stays cool, private, and connected to the landscape.
